Sonali Weerasinghe, RDH BS MSDH
Sonali has worked within the association for more than 3 years. She currently is a clinical dental hygienist at a private practice in Takoma Park, Maryland. Sonali graduated from Allegany College of Maryland's Dental Hygiene Program in 2016 and went on to pursue a Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene at University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2018. She has an immense passion for education and loves giving back to those in the community. Her hope is to become a Dental Hygiene Professor in the very near future. She would also like to start a dental hygiene program in her motherland of Sri Lanka, as preventative dentistry is not highly recognized there. Based on this decision, she decided to complete her Master's of Science degree in dental hygiene education and public health at the University of Bridgeport Fones School of Dental Hygiene in 2021. Outside of the association, she likes to spend time with her family, loves cooking, enjoys meditation, and playing sports such as cricket and badminton. Additionally, she also teaches Buddhism at her local temple for students grades 6-12.

Joanne Moretti, RDH
Born and raised in Horseheads, NY and a 1960 graduate of SUNY Broome CC, Binghamton, NY.
Joann has worked in private practice in the Gaithersburg/ Rockville area for 50 years.
ADHA has been a part of her life during that time and she has served on the National, State and Component levels.
Mom to 4 Sons, Grandmother to 8 and GGrandmother to 1.
Family and friendships are the joy of her life and being a RDH.
TRUSTEE
Susan Polydoroff, RDH
Susan graduated from Indiana University and has been in private practice for over 50 years. During this time she spent 20 years in Public Health. ADHA has been her professional home and she received several awards for membership as well as serving as MDHA’S President . She founded her local component MCDHA and continues to be active in the planning of CE courses. She served on the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners and is still active with the testing procedure with CDCA.
SECRETARY
Mary Ann Schneiderman, RDH MS
Originally from Philadelphia, she received her Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Temple University, Bachelor of Science from the George Washington University, and Master of Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Since 2003 she has been a faculty member in the Division of Dental Hygiene, University of Maryland School of Dentistry. MaryAnn has taught a variety of courses and has been the senior clinic coordinator at the Baltimore campus since 2013. In June 2020, she will transition to her new role as the Dental Hygiene Clinical Director for the University of Maryland’s new Clinical Dental Hygiene Leader (CDHL) program located at the Universities at Shady Grove. Her research activities and CE presentations have included the topics of Interactive Educational Technology in online learning, periodontal treatment planning, salivary diagnostics, implant maintenance, infection control in the dental setting, and geriatric oral health.
MaryAnn has worked extensively in both general and periodontal practices as a clinical dental hygienist. She continues to practice one day a week in private practice. She volunteers as a dental hygiene product evaluator for Clinical Research Associates, is a CDCA examiner, a CDC Inspector for the MSBDE, and served as the president of the Montgomery County Dental Hygienists’ Association from 2012-2016. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Brad, and her dog Izzy. If the weather is warm, you can find her working in the garden or relaxing on their screened-in porch listening to the relaxing sounds of their pond.
